One of the three original Pennsylvania counties, Chester County, often referred to as Chesco, takes its name from Chester, England.
The eastern part of the county includes many communities that make up the western suburbs of Philadelphia. The southern part is considered to be suburban Wilmington, DE.

The county encompasses 751 square miles of land and its county seat is West Chester. Major roadways include I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike.) Colleges and universities include West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
