Giving back to the community has always been an integral part of our company culture and everyday operations. Our active participation in the community makes it hard not to deliver exceptional service to all of our friends and neighbors.

One example of our civic involvement is the support we give to the local arts scene. Among the organizations we support is the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, which provides numerous opportunities for people of all ages to create and enjoy the visual arts. We’re also a big advocate for the Hedgerow Theatre in Media, a nationally renowned venue known for the developing future generations of theatre artists.

Coming soon: Our 4th Annual Fueled Up & Fired Up Pick 5 Challenge

Of course, I can’t mention community involvement without highlighting our most ambitious initiative: the Fueled Up & Fired Up Pick 5 Challenge. As many of you know, we founded this event to benefit the Nether Providence Township First Responders (including the police force and volunteer fire companies of South Media and Garden City) and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Philadelphia chapter.

Last year’s event drew more than 300 participants and raised more than $18,000. In just three years, we have raised more than $40,000, plus an additional $15,000 just for Susan G. Komen through our Pink Truck campaign.

This year’s Fueled Up & Fired Up Pick 5 Challenge is scheduled for Saturday October 18. Registration starts at 8:30 am. All pre-registered participants receive T-shirts and prizes and awards will be given to each age group. Breakfast and lunch is provided for participants and their families.

The Fueled Up & Fired Up Pick 5 Challenge—and the many other events we participate in throughout the year– provide us with great opportunities to meet our friends and neighbors, stay involved and give back to the communities we love to serve.

Best wishes,

David O’Connell
