All about Media, Pennsylvania.

Media is the county seat of Delaware County. The land on which the borough sits was purchased in the 17th century directly from William Penn. It began as a village called Providence, founded by a group of Quakers in 1681. Providence was part of Chester County until Delaware County was established in 1789. In 1845, the county seat was moved to Providence, which was soon renamed Media because of its position in the center of the county.

Media was on the route leading north from Wilmington, DE, with the Underground Railroad. Many formerly enslaved people settled in the area. In 1937, Media Friends School welcomed its first Black student. Despite initial resistance from some families, the school remained steadfast and became a model for effective integration in the region.

Air Conditioning FAQs

Why won’t my air conditioning turn on?

Often, the underlying issue of an AC system not coming on is electrical. Make sure there are no blown fuses, tripped breakers or damaged wiring. Also, confirm that your thermostat is set to “air conditioning” or “cool” or turned to “fan.” Finally, ensure your thermostat is set below the current room temperature. If everything seems fine and your AC still won’t come on, contact the Wilson team for service.

How do I address warm air coming from my AC?
Some causes of warm air can be solved without a service visit. Check your system’s air filters and clean or replace them if they’re dirty. However, the issue might also involve low refrigerant. In this case, you need professional service.

When should I replace my AC equipment?
Central AC systems have an average lifespan of 15 to 20 years, and there are specific scenarios when it makes much more sense to replace your AC instead of repairing it. Consider the following variables:
