If history is any indication, sweltering summer days (and nights) will soon become the norm for the next 8+ weeks. An average family spends 10% of their energy dollars cooling their home, but if July and August are their usual hot and humid selves this year, that percentage could be even higher!

Here are five great ideas that can help you keep your cool and save some money this summer.

  1. A properly tuned system can lower your annual cooling costs by as much as 10%. The last thing you want is to lose your air conditioning in the middle of a blistering heat wave! If you haven’t done so already, please give us a call—610-566-7600 to schedule your tune-up; it’s not too late. You can also email us to request an appointment.
  2. Our regular service and tune-up includes an air filter check. On your own, you should check the filter about once a month during the cooling season. A dirty filter restricts air flow and lowers system efficiency and in extreme cases, it can cause your system to overheat and shut down. Follow manufacturer’s instructions to either replace or wash your filter or give us a call to take care of this for you. Make sure the power to the system is off before removing the filter.
  3. A mini-split ductless air conditioning system lets you create your own comfort zone and allows you to cool individual rooms or even your entire home. Ductless cooling units are quiet and energy efficient and blend with any décor.
  4. Replace your old a/c system. Your new system will save you hundreds of dollars on electric bills and will do a better job of keeping your home cool and comfortable. Contact us today for more details and a FREE estimate.
