For starters, propane is not toxic! It does not spill, pool, or leave a residue, which makes it harmless to soil or water in the event of a tank leak.
Propane also emits less than half the greenhouse gas emissions of electricity to produce the same amount of energy. That’s because the majority of the electricity used in our country is produced by coal-fired or natural gas-powered plants.

Since propane has a lower carbon content than petroleum products, it burns cleaner and creates fewer toxic emissions. Some estimates are that converting a vehicle to propane can reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 90%.
