A Breath of Fresh Air: Inside Your Home

indoor air quality filter

Posted: April 13, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 quarantine, non-essential workers are spending most of their time at home. This makes the indoor air quality of our Delaware Valley homes vitally important, especially during allergy season.

One important task for you to remember to do is check the air filters for your HVAC equipment.

If you have forced-air heating and central air conditioning in your home, you should check the filter’s condition once a month. For an average size home with no pets, most of the time you probably can go up to three months before you change/clean your filters.

But if you have pets, and/or someone in your home has a respiratory condition such as asthma, COPD, or emphysema, you will need to check filters every few weeks and change/clean them far more frequently.

What can we do for your home air quality?

Of course, the path to better indoor air doesn’t end with maintaining your air filters. Wilson Oil and Propane installs indoor air quality equipment, including:

  • Whole-house humidifiers
  • Whole-house air cleaners
  • Ultraviolet-light air purifiers
  • Ventilation systems

Our trained, experienced indoor air quality technicians can help you determine what you need for your home, then expertly install, maintain and repair it. Read more about some of the products we offer to help you breathe easier.

We also encourage to look into our Aeroseal duct-sealing service. If you have duct leaks, you will experience reduced indoor air quality, including excessive dust and allergens.

Aeroseal is a safe and non-toxic method that has been used in thousands of homes, schools, hospitals, and government installations throughout the country and world. The process usually takes less than one day to complete and provides you with “Certificate of Completion” that illustrates the before and after results. Read about our Aeroseal service.

Be well, and stay safe.
