If you call us to order fuel, make sure to check your heating oil or propane tank regularly—especially in the middle of a cold snap. You should call us before your fuel level gets too low (we recommend calling when your tank is about one-quarter full).

Running out of fuel can potentially damage your equipment and cost you more money to fix. To avoid that, do things the easy way and sign up for automatic deliveries. Automatic deliveries allow us to take the responsibility of ensuring that your tanks do not run out of fuel. We use an estimating calculation, including degree days, to track your usage. This ensures that you will won’t run out.

Here are a few more things to remember this winter:

  • Clear your driveway of snow, edge to edge. Our trucks need a space wide enough for an ambulance to get through.
  • Make sure to clear a path to your tank after it snows.
  • If you have an underground tank, plant a bright orange or yellow flag near it to allow our drivers to easily find your tank after it snows.
  • Let us know if anything in your household has changed—such as extended visits from relatives, new appliances, etc.—that could affect your fuel consumption.
